Listed joy for Lancaster House at Listowel


Lancaster House kept his unbeaten record intact with a display from Josie Whelan Memorial Listowel Stakes & the Edmund.
Aidan O’Brien’s colt was a eight-length winner on his debut in the Galway Festival in early August – and also having followed in a situation event under a fortnight ago, he had been the 7-4 favourite since he awakened to Listed class in County Kerry on Monday.

“That’s the ideal feel he’s given me so far,” explained the rider.
“Out Of (stall) 17, to have the speed to get up to some position similar to that ancient, he has done really well. He travelled around very simple.
“He impressed me today – I think he is quite a good horse.
“I thought a mile and a quarter has been going to be his excursion, but he travelled so easy and revealed a great deal of speed today – so a mile or a mile and a quarter will be his excursions ”
