Lincoln vs Shrewsbury
Sky Bet League One
7:45pm Friday October
Cian Bolger was shown a straight red card since Shrewsbury and Lincoln performed a dour goalless draw at Sincil Bank.
The Imps centre-back was sent off to go about Shrews replacement Shaun Whalley near the point, seemingly discounted for denying a goalscoring chance for a foul.
The result was a reflection of a game which lacked episode and goalmouth activity.
The initial half-an-hour was edged by the Imps off target with efforts with Michael O’Connor Bruno Andrade and Jorge Grant.
Shrewsbury finished the half nicely with Jason Cummings firing wide and high just before the fracture.
From the second half, the visitors had the first meaningful shot on target when Sean Goss’ free-kick was beaten away by Josh Vickers.
In the end, the leading scorer, Tyler Walker of Lincoln, had a goal ruled out for offside following Max O’Leary had saved the shot of John Akinde.
Town have been given a boost at the closing stages when Bolger saw reddish and they piled the pressure in search of a late winner, however, Vickers kept them at bay.
