KSI’s rematch with YouTube rival Logan Paul will attract the biggest boxing market of this year following 10 million watched the very first press conference, states promoter Eddie Hearn.
The YouTube personalities that were hugely popular renewed their rivalry at the weekend in Los Angeles , trading a tirade of insults ahead of their boxing rematch at the Staples Center on November 9.
Paul and KSI have enrolled as boxers after their amateur bout ended in a vast majority draw August at Manchester and Matchroom Boxing boss Hearn is currently expecting need to watch their second fight.
“Seven hundred thousand people watched the press conference live, only in their YouTube flows,” Hearn told Sky Sports.
“I think it’s up to 10million people have observed the press conference today. This fight is going to be the year’s battle.
“It is insane, but they are at least respecting this code. They’ve turned pro, no mind guards, 10 oz glasses. I really don’t believe they know what they’ve let themselves for on this one.”
Having exploited the pulling power of Paul and KSI on media, Hearn is creating a fight bill to include climbing the world champion Billy Joe Saunders of Britain along with US contender Devin Haney in an effort to pull a fresh fan base.
“They have trained hard, they’re in good shape, they can struggle, but the responsibility on us would be to make certain that we showcase amazing boxing to this new crowd,” said Hearn.
“That’s the reason Devin Haney, Billy Joe Saunders are most likely going to be about the undercard too, as it is one thing attracting countless new fans to the game, can we maintain them? That is the challenge that is new.
“Even though we could keep one per cent, it’s wonderful for boxing.
“Madness, complete insanity. I really don’t understand what is going to happen. Staples Center will be mad and hopefully we can grow the sport and keep these fans in the game, and reveal a while while we’re there together with Devin and Billy.”
