Jadon Sancho says racism could drive players out of football

Jadon Sancho fears if racism in the game does not stop, players could quit football.
Romelu Lukaku was subjected to monkey chants at the latest incident this term during Inter’s game at Cagliari, together with Marcus Rashford and Tammy Abraham along with Manchester United duo Paul Pogba and Chelsea set Kurt Zouma encountering online misuse earlier in this season.
If the racism persists is worried players may be driven from the game.
“I think it only has to stop,” that the 19-year-old England winger stated.
“No player wishes to play football and having misuse like that. It sets the confidence down and that I feel the love of the game will go.
“Everybody ought to be happy and simply do what they’re doing [with] no undue abuse.
“I really don’t think it’s social media [that is the main issue ].
“I think some fans are very enthusiastic, they simply say what they want to say but they simply need to slow it down a little. We’re still human. We’re not exactly what people think. We’re famed but we love the sport and need to play soccer.
“It’s difficult when I find things like this because it feels like,’why should we play football’?” I feel like Romelu Lukaku managed it [the situation at Cagliari] very well by not reacting and just taking on playing”
