Houston Astros at New York Yankees MLB Pick – October 16th

We picked the low hanging fruit up yesterday and caught two more wins to run our record throughout the playoffs to 18-5-1. They weren’t alluring selections, as both groups we backed were favorites, but this time of the year, together with so few games over the program, you can not always seek out high-value underdogs like you can during the normal season with as much as fifteen matches on the schedule. Butwins are wins, and even cashed tickets have been cashed tickets.
On the Street, we backed Gerrit Cole along with the Houston Astros in the game. I simply could not pass up on financing Gerrit Cole, as he has been on a different level this year, while I loathed having to vanish the Yankees in Yankee Stadium from the drama. Cole was 18-0 within the course of his final twenty-four starts and had struck out guys in twenty five straight starts. And in the movie, he was better as he entirely obliterated the Tampa Bay Rays in 2 ALDS starts.
And when you looked in the opposite side of the mound, you had a guy after missing into a shoulder injury in Luis Severino who had pitched a handful of innings this season. So I felt the line that is -149 was undervalued and didn’t have much of a choice.
Cole did exactly what everyone except fans knew he would as he had been once more unhittable. He also walked five batters he ended with seven innings allowing no runs on only four hits while striking out seven, while he did battle with his command a few. The Astros took advantage of Severino early and managed to dish a few early runs, along with also the Astros held late to the win. The Astros regain the benefit after dropping game 2 in Houston, that they lost.
In the late game we picked up a win by financing the Washington Nationals and Patrick Corbin. This was just another no-brainer. The lineup has been historically bad at the first three matches of the show, combining for two total runs. With strikeout master Corbin on the mound, I believed that the Cards would have nothing for the Nats and gladly set the -160 on the favorites.
And after the Nationals jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning, I knew that I had made the perfect pick. Together with the early lead, Corbin went to cruise control. It cost him as he did provide up four runs, despite striking twelve out in only five innings of work. For the first time in this series, the Cardinals revealed a little heart.
But the rally ended there as the game turned over to their bullpen that was horrible, along with the Washington pencil slammed the door shut. The Nats bullpen allowed only 1 hit and no runs in four innings, and the triumph, the Nationals are led for their first World Series at Franchise history.
More importantly, for Washington, they get to sit at home and break up for days and set their starting pitching rotation whilst waiting for the winner of the Yankee and also Astros series. Using a one, two three, of Scherzer, Strasburg, and Corbin, you certainly can’t count them out, although the Nats will be underdogs from both of those groups. For the selection of today, we will head to New York, where the Yankees and Astros play with game four of the ALCS.
The Houston Astros are in New York Wednesday for match four of the American League Championship Series against the Yankees. This series has been exciting so far, as the road teams have taken the last two games. Houston regained the string lead last night since they knocked off the Yankees in New York. And even things will try up tonight.
Beginning for the Yankees is JA Happ (12-8 4.91 ERA), also for the Astros it is Jose Urquidy (2-1 3.95 ERA). The game complete over-under is set at eight and a half runs. The Yankees are all -128 home favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 5:08 PM PST out of Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
We’ve talked a good deal about the potency of this Houston Astros pitching staff this year. They’ve a trio of genius level starters together with Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander, and Zack Greinke. But he immediately got pounded, and it appears like Houston has learned his lesson from the ALDS when they began Justin Verlander on break, and the Astros lost the match. Tonight, Houston will start instead of going to a guy with no rest Jose Urquidy. They took a very long time to declare their newcomer, however, and that’s likely last night, because had they lost, they would have gone Greinke on break.
If you do not know who Jose Urquidy is, don’t worry, not a lot of people outside Houston do. Urquidy is a twenty-four-year-old rookie who was a September call up and did not join the group until July, prior to being sent back down to the minors in August. After struggling in his first stint with the group, going 1-1 with a 5.87 ERA in five starts, he had been much enhanced in September. In September that he was 1-0 with 1.50 ERA in four starts. While Urquidy has been decent lately, he’s never seen anything like what this Yankees lineup brings to the table.
JA Happ is the grizzled veteran of the rotation. Now in his profession, he simply is not likely to close down many teams, but generally he does a good job of giving his team a chance to win games. And at thirty-six years old can you ask for? In September, Happ appeared great, which explains exactly why he left the cut in this collection because the fourth rookie. In five September starts, he went 1-0 with a 1.65 ERA.
The Yankees have to win tonightand I believe that they will discover a way. I really don’t trust Happ as far as I could throw him it seems just like throwing blood into a shark tank, with Houston beginning a rookie will experience such as Jose Urquidy. Contrary to the first couple of matches of the show I find this as a high scoring game. I think the two Happ and Urquidy give runs up, and this might become a slugfest.
And there might be a team in history I would rather back in a team that hit 306 regular-season home runs. Expect fireworks tonight, but when the smoke clears, the Yankees will get a way. Give the New York Yankees as house favorites tonight in game from Yankee Stadium to me!
