Henrikh Mkhitaryan says unhappiness led to his loan move away from Arsenal

Henrikh Mkhitaryan says he needed to leave Arsenal to”enjoy playing football “, as he combined Roma on loan this summer.
He scored eight goals in 39 league games during his time at north London, also joined the Gunners out of Manchester United at 2018.
The Armenian, who scored two goals on Sunday from his nation’s European Qualifier win over Bosnia, believed he needed to leave England to re-find his passion for soccer.
He explained:”I have to enjoy playing soccer, regardless of the place. Back in England, I felt joyful.
“I got a call from my agent and I wanted to come, since it was a wonderful opportunity for me personally. I didn’t even have a discussion with my agent about money.
“Perhaps I was not fitting well in British football, so I think that a change was great.”
Before joining Arsenal in a swap deal with all Alexis Sanchez who has also made the change into Serie A, linking Inter Milan on loan the winger signed for Manchester United out of Borussia Dortmund.
Mkhitaryan says he wants to concentrate on his new challenge in Italy.
He said:”The last month in Arsenal I wasn’t happy, so that’s why I said it had been better to return to Roma and to find happy and to get the enjoyment from playing football again.
“Today I’m at Rome and I focus on these. As great football is played here, this is not a step backwards. I wished to change landscape and for me personally it’s an chance to be seized.”
