Hearts sit bottom of the Premiership having picked up two points in their opening five games of this season.
Fan protests followed last week’s 3-2 home defeat to Motherwell with some supporters calling for Levein’s sacking.
Budge submitted a long statement on the club’s site criticising”unfair” policy of Levein and ignoring claims which the team are lining up a replacement.
“[…] In short, our Board remains behind the supervisor, his coaching staff and his staff,” Budge said.
“Not since he is’untouchable’, not since he’s’all-powerful’, and not because we are’weak’, as was suggested.
“We stay behind him because we believe in the plan we have jointly collect.
“What we don’t do is overreact, throw all our plans from the window and begin again!
“[…] I’d just point out that, unlike other supervisors, who may get called facing the plank if/when things are going wrong, Craig must present to the entire board at every board meeting on the way things are going against [the] strategy across all areas of the football operation, such as highlighting issues and discussing courses of actions.”
